Friday: Could Serbia be a World Cup wild card? They really have traveled under the radar. Think of their players: Mitrovic, Matic, Tadic, Kolarov, Ivanovic…. these guys can play! Switzerland have power as well. Let’s see what Iceland can do against Nigeria. Maybe Senegal’s win will inspire the Super Eagles. Friday’s matches might not be the sparkly games that get a lot of coverage, but considering the teams, we should see some really good football.
Saturday: We expect big crowds and a lively atmosphere for Mexico v. Korea on Saturday. Mexico is flying high and Tottenham favorite Son has a nation watching his every move. We know Germany has a LOT to prove against a solid Sweden defense. We hope you can then join us for an outdoor soccer event we call the 3V3 PDX Street Soccer Tourney right next to the Toffee and across the street in the parking lot of the Lucky Lab. This will go from 10 AM until 6 PM.
Sunday: Anyone who makes it in for a 5 AM match gets a round of applause! But hey, it’s ENGLAND! There are high hopes for a win against Panama. Japan is coming off their surprise win over Columbia and Senegal is flying high from their shocking win over Poland. This should be a cracking match. At 11 AM, Columbia and Poland are in must win situations, so this match should be lively!
We love football!
